In some cases, after visa approval the embassy gives a sealed envelope containing documents that must be given to U.S. immigration authorities on first arrival in the United States.
Why it may be required
The official Islamabad supplement states that if you receive a sealed envelope, you must carry it with you, must not open it, and must not put it in checked luggage.
Who normally needs it
Applicants who are issued a sealed packet when the embassy approves an immigrant visa. Not every approved case receives a paper packet.
Where Pakistani applicants can obtain it
Issued by the U.S. Embassy if the consular section provides one.
General application process
If issued, keep the packet sealed and carry it when traveling to the United States. Give it to U.S. immigration authorities on first arrival.
