Birth Certificate Guide — Pakistani U.S. Visa Applicants | Pakistan USA Visa Tracker
Birth Registration Certificate
General informational guidance based on official sources. Not legal advice.
The Department of State names the Birth Registration Certificate as the birth document for Pakistan. Union Councils, Municipal Corporations, the CDA, and Cantonment Boards issue these certificates.
Why it may be required
The Islamabad supplement requires every applicant’s original birth certificate with an English translation and photocopies. NVC also collects birth civil documents.
Who normally needs it
Immigrant visa applicants, and often the petitioner’s birth certificate as listed on the Islamabad family-based checklist.
Where Pakistani applicants can obtain it
The applicable local government authority. Births should be registered within two months according to the reciprocity page, but later registration processes exist locally and should be confirmed with that authority.
General application process
The Department of State states applicants must visit their local government authority, fill out a form, and provide identification.
Common documents required
Identification as required by the local authority. Alternate documents may include CRC/B-form or FRC from NADRA as described on the reciprocity page.
City / province information
City-by-city office addresses, phone numbers, and local fees are not published here unless an administrator later enters a sourced government record. Until then, use the issuing authority named by the official source and verify locally.
Important notes
A civil record on rupee paper is not acceptable for U.S. visa processing, according to the reciprocity page. Fees vary by location.
